As a core initiative to expand uranium mining prospects, Skyharbour Resources Ltd. has commenced its Fall diamond drilling program at its flagship 35,705-hectare Moore Uranium project. Notably, the drilling venture is located near the Denison Mine’s Wheeler River boasting an impressive 109.4 million pounds of U3O8, at the rapidly emerging uranium camp, Russell Lake, Saskatchewan.
The project is strategically scheduled for commencement during the robust season for mining activities or simply put — the Fall. This decision was deliberated and approved considering the accessible weather conditions and favourable environmental factors of the season. Also, it will mark the completion of 2,500 meters of the company’s planned 3,500-meter drill.
Skyharbour Resources Ltd. being a preeminent player in exploration companies is underlined by a strong, diversified project portfolio that constitutes an embodiment of uranium and thorium deposits. The prime focus of the company’s operations revolve around uranium, however, it also reaches other strategic minerals in the Athabasca Basin.
The Fall diamond drilling programme specifically targets the Maverick East Zone and the Main Maverick Zone. At Maverick East Zone, it aims to test and examine the continuity and the robust grade uranium mineralization recently discovered. In contrast, at the Main Maverick Zone, the main intent will be identifying high-grade zones of uranium mineralization hosted in the basement rocks, extending the zones of mineralization straddling the unconformity.
Additionally, Skyharbour will further work on the East Preston project, a claim by Clean Commodities Corp and Orano, France’s largest uranium mining and nuclear fuel cycle company. Given that the East Preston project was not subjected to systematic drill tested exploration, there is a significant opportunity for substantial uranium discoveries.
One of the focal aims of the drilling program is showcasing the project’s high-value potential. It is exploring the potential for economically significant high-grade uranium deposits nestled in both the sandstone and the underlying basement rocks. The company is meticulously formulating drilling strategies that maximize geological understanding and promote cost optimization.
Thus far, the company has been steadfast in its exploration efforts. It has hit high-grade mineralization in each of the drill holes in what has now been defined as the East Maverick Zone. This new discovery zone is located along an electromagnetic (EM) conductor corridor that trends northeast of the Main Maverick Zone. This provides a tangible indication of considerable potential scale of high-grade uranium mineralization at the Moore Project.
The Moore Uranium Project presents a compelling narrative of growth and potential for uranium mining. It illustrates Skyharbour Resources Ltd.’s dynamic approach to sustainable and innovative methods for uranium extraction and management. This drilling program is a milestone venture in the redefining exploration strategy marking a notable step towards the search for newer and sustainable mineral resources in the uranium industry.
