Athena Gold, a mining company known for its focus on gold and copper exploration in North America, has shared exciting news about its gold exploration endeavours in Nevada. Striking high-grade samples from the Buster Mine at the Excelsior Springs Project in Esmeralda County, Nevada communiicate positive results for the company.
This valuable gold exploration asset is nestled in the prolific gold province of Nevada, offering immense potential for precious metal extraction. Athena Gold has been examining the Buster Mine within the Excelsior Springs project and the results have been more than heartening. According to their report, the rock-chip samples from the mine contain up to 50.6 g/t gold. This high yield not only validates ongoing exploration efforts but also positions Athena Gold favorably in Nevada’s high-stakes, gold mining landscape.
Dedication to their mission is visible as the Athena Gold’s exploration strategy has been highly targeted and data-driven thus far. Their efforts to identify regions with high potential of gold have led them to the historic, high-grade Buster Mine. This mine has a long-standing history of gold and copper extraction dating back to the early 1900s, making it an ideal candidate for Athena’s exploration.
Rock chip sample collection from selected historic mine workings at Buster Mine has returned with high grade gold values. Athena collected a total of 35 samples and carried out the collection of samples from both dump material and vein material exposed at surface level. The company took extreme care during the process to not cross-contaminate during sampling.
The most notable discovery is the sample 21ESRC002 which returned with 50.6 g/t gold. With such significant indicators of high gold presence, it reaffirms the geologic model that suggests a substantial gold system presence at the Excelsior Springs Project. Alongside, the sample 21ESRC007 also showed encouraging results, displaying 25.2 g/t gold. Moreover, several samples exhibited visible gold, further substantiating the high-grade gold potential of the mine.
A series of laboratory analyses have validated these findings, reinforcing the credibility of the exploratory work carried out. Athena Gold uses Bureau Veritas Laboratories, an independent commercial laboratory in Nevada and Canada, for sample preparation and analyses, providing further assurance of the data accuracy.
The Excelsior Springs Project, covering an area of approximately 1,720 acres, is an amalgamation of patented and unpatented mining claims. It’s located within the broader Excelsior Springs mining district which has an intriguing geology. High-grade replacement deposits in carbonate rocks and low-sulfidation epithermal veins in volcanic rocks present the main mineralization styles.
The Buster Mine, within the Excelsior Springs Project, has proved to be an asset to Athena Gold. These recent discoveries indicate the enormous potential and corroborate the belief that a significant, as-yet-undiscovered epithermal gold-silver system is present within the project boundaries.
With these results, Athena Gold can focus on enhancing their exploration efforts and investing in excavations that promise high-yield outcomes. The robust support from research and accurate results from geological investigation indeed point to a shining future for Athena Gold and the Excelsior Springs Project.
