Mr. Costa brings a substantial gamut of experience spanning over 20 years, which envelops a wide spectrum of roles like Exploration Manager, Senior Geologist, and Consultant. His remarkable career graph, boasting an impressive trajectory through renowned companies such as Vale Canada, Anglo American, and BHP Billiton, has further cemented his position as the optimum choice for Appia.
In previous positions, he has played an integral part in promising mining projects, handling responsibility for project generation, evaluation, as well as landing discoveries of nickel-copper-PGE sulphide. Mr. Costa has been pivotal in the in-depth study of mineral deposits, identification of new targets, and the development of efficient exploration plans, making him highly proficient for his new role.
Vale Canada’s Thompson Nickel Belt was amongst Mr. Costa’s numerous successful projects, where he aided in identifying new deposit segments. Adding another feather to his cap, his role in the discovery of the Tubas Sand project in Namibia is quite noteworthy.
Mr. Costa holds an M.Sc. in Geology and a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Brasilia, Brazil. He is a Qualified Person according to the standards set by the Professional Geologists of Ontario (PGO). Furthermore, Mr. Costa is also a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO), the Sociedade Brasileira de Geologia (Brazil), and the Association of Exploration Geochemists which makes him highly capable for this new role.
